The Theatre Group - TAG

The Theatre Group (TAG) is a parent group that supports the drama department by volunteering their time and/or giving donations. TAG is currently selling hooded sweatshirts, pens and lanyards. These are great keepsakes for your student or yourself! You could also join the TAG Team if you haven't already.

To sign up for a job, become a member of TAG, purchase a sweatshirt or get advance tickets for productions, will be available at registration.

Volunteer Jobs Description

Costumes:

  • Coordinate with student costume representative for required wardrobe for performance
  • Coordinate and record actors measurements for current performance. (Measurement Guide and Worksheet Supplied)
  • Pick up costumes at A.C.T.. A.C.T. Costume, Costume Rentals: The Costume Shop (by appointment only) is located at: 1119 Market St. (near Seventh) San Francisco, CA 94103 To make an appointment please call 415.439.2379
  • Conduct a pre wardrobe check with actors
  • Return costumes within one week of closing performance

Props:

  • Coordinate with student prop representative for required props for performance
  • Send out request to theatre parents for loaner props and record as they come in
  • Pick up unacquired props at A.C.T. prop house. A.C.T. Scenery/Prop Shops: The Prop and Scene Shop is located at:
    681 Florida St. (at 19th) San Francisco, CA 94110
  • Return all props within a week of closing performance

Set Design:

  • Put together a team from parent/student volunteers and theatre tech students for set design
  • Coordinate with Mr. Perryman for specifications and supplies for the set
  • Build set with team
  • Tear down set.

Rehearsal Meals:

  • Get list from Mr. Perryman of cast and crew for each production
  • Designate a food/drink/dinnerware item for each family to bring on a rehearsal night

Publicity:

  • Solicit local publications to advertise or cover our performances (offer free tickets)
  • Solicit affiliated theatre houses, colleges/schools and small businesses to let us advertise our performances in way of posters and/or tickets

Concession:

  • Coordinate finger foods and drinks for intermission
